Model 662 Quake Log Software
The Quake Log software lets you view the Seismo Site information to analyze and save for later reference and to transmit it via the World Wide Web to the Quake Ops database for distribution. The Computer Interface (Model 651) puts all the information gathered by the Seismo Site into computer format. Data transfers easily over the serial cable just like a modem, this cable plugs into the Computer Interface, which plugs into the serial port on the computer. The program runs in Windows 3.1 or 95.
Readout
The view on your computer screen can provide a real time display of seismic activity. On-screen controls permit viewing of any of three orientations: north-south, east-west, or the sum of the two accelerometers. The availability of this control over the view makes it simple to calibrate and eliminate local noise sources such as highway vibrations, and to tune the seismograph for best sensitivity for your installation area.
Equipment Required
The Quake Log operates on a 386 or higher IBM or compatible PC with Windows 3.1 or higher, 1MB RAM, VGA or higher graphic capabilities, and a Windows compatible mouse. It outputs to any windows-supported printer. It requires a serial I/O port set up for COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4. The Quake Log is provided on one 3.5 inch floppy diskette. It is intended to be installed on your hard disk, and requires a minimum of 2MB available.
